Coronavirus Update

Coronavirus is a large family of viruses that causes illnesses ranging from the common cold to more severe cases. It causes infections in the nose, sinuses, and upper throat. There is currently still no cure, but it is ongoing to be found. However, it is realistically said that a cure would have to undergo so many other processes that it may take a year or more until it goes out. What is happening though, is that doctors are trying to strengthen the people infected

The virus is known to have taken 300 lives in China, infected more than 7,000 people, and spread to more than 23 countries. The numbers are increasing as time passes. It is said the there are more than 100,000 cases and it may turn into a pandemic. Just recently, a man in the Philippines has died from the coronavirus. This is supposedly the first outside of China. Stores in countries are starting to go out of stock for masks.

Safety Tips:

  • Clean hands with soap and water
  • Bring with you alcohol-based rub ever you go
  • Avoid touching surfaces where many people have gone
  • When sneezing or coughing, cover mouth with tissues or flexed elbow
  • Avoid close contact with people who have a cold or flu-like symptoms
  • Cook meat and eggs thoroughly
  • Avoid contact with wild or farm animals
  • Get a proper face mask for the virus

stay safe guys ❤

Guide to GOOD GRADES (yeahhss)

“Positivity always wins… always.” – Gary Vaynerchuk

Remember that your grades do not define you and that what matters is what you make of yourself and how you rise up against the hardships in life and give back to those around you and the planet at the end of the day.

whew.

Okay, now let’s do this. 🙂 You got it. Here’s a video I made on GETTING THOSE GOOD GRADES. I hope it really helps you and you enjoy!!

Important tips to doing good at school:

Your MINDSET is your magic power. I am a strong believer that what you put your mind to and what you honestly and genuinely believe you can do, YOU CAN DO. What you can do right now to just bring yourself a step closer to your goal is to fully BELIEVE that you got this, that you’re capable, and that YOU’RE AWESOME.

Going off of mindset, you also need to surround yourself with like-minded people who aim to reach success along with keeping a positive and kind attitude. You tend to imitate the actions and thoughts of the people you spend most of your time with. It was studied by social psychologists which showed that the people you most associate with had a very high percentage in the influence of your life.

You want that A? You want to do well in school? Here’s one of the secrets: you have to make SCHOOL and those GRADES top PRIORITY.

You need to defeat the enemy: procrastination

You have your calendar, your MOTIVATION, and some other tips by your side. YOU GOT THIS. As soon as you get home, grab your homework or project out and finish it. Give yourself an hour of full concentration and DO IT. If you realize that there’s a couple of homework stashed in the deep end of your backpack right now, pause from reading this awesomeness (here’s a free permission slip), and complete that. DON’T LET THE ENEMY WIN.

Another helpful way to know which direction to take when studying is to find out your learning style. If you know it already, feel free to skip forward to the next tip! Everyone learns differently and that’s completely fine. The good news about understanding this is we can find out what is the best way to learn to optimize our study time. You can click here to take the learning style assessment! What I love about the assessment is that at the end of the test, it will tell you a list of the best ways and ideas you can do to study your best. Take the test! 🙂

The next thing on the agenda is raising your hand. RAISE. YOUR. HAND. First off, it’s good for arm exercise. Second off, if you need help to understand whatever the teacher is talking about in class raise your hand and ask them to explain it. I know all the eyes in the classroom might seem kind of intimidating at first but raising your hand to understand better is really worth it and helpful in passing in class.

I’ll end you with this: Find your WHY. It is highly important to find your why because it will work as your motivation. When things get tough, your why will help you. YOU GOT THIS. I really hope this helps you keep a positive mindset while proving to yourself that you’re 100% capable of doing this.

Love,

L.O.A.S.H

L.O.A.S.H’s Guide to (nearly) Everything: Reading How to Read

Quote of AWESOMENESS“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” – Dr. Seuss

!school edition!

Reading may be difficult at times, however, with a proper game plan this process may not be as painful. Okay, I’m overreacting a little bit here. Reading is awesome! There are some many books out there that inspire, teach, and share so much amazing stories and information. Aside from books, there are also great blogs (*cough* L.O.A.S.H. *cough*), articles, and more to learn from.

Now, time to read how to read. Here are some tips!

~ BEFORE READING ~

– Attitude –

Okay, before you start reading (or, really before you start anything that you want to go well) it’s always best to start with a positive attitude. If you’re complaining and keeping a bad mood, this attitude influences that way you feel which then leads you to affect what you remember and have learned what you’ve read negatively.

– Scheduling –

Create a reading schedule! Put aside some time every day for reading. This is a good habit to form. This will help you to spread out the reading over a course of time.

– Preview –

Before you read through, skim through it first. Notice all the bolds, words in italics, in all CAPS, and what seems to stand out.

– Questions –

It is very helpful to take down questions you may have while you read to retain the information before you better.

~ DURING READING ~

– Chunk it –

Don’t just go through the motions and stop just looking at it word for word. Read the ideas. Where are these founds? Ideas are found in groups of words. So, remember, read in chunks!

– Stop, Reflect, Summarize –

As you finish each section of what you’ve read, pause. Think back on what you’ve just read and summarize it.

– Answers –

Remember the list of questions you may have made? Now is the time to answer them!

– Mark & Annotate your text –

As you read, highlight the important information you find.

Ask yourself:

“What are the key concepts?”

“What are the supporting ideas?”

– Notes –

Going through the reading, take some notes. If there are any definitions that don’t seem familiar, look it up, and jot down what it means.

~ AFTER READING ~

Reflect on what you’ve read. Ask questions about what you’ve read to see if you can answer them. Reread the difficult passages to fully comprehend it, you may have to do this a couple of times. Recite the highlighted areas out loud. Talk about what you just read and explain the main ideas to someone.

And, there you have it!

These tips are really great for studying! I hope you enjoyed reading how to read 🙂

 stay awesome peoples
